Anne Kobold, LCSW, RPT
Clinical Director

With over 25 years of experience working with children and families, I bring a holistic, integrative approach to therapy. My theoretical orientation combines Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, the brain-body connection, and a strengths-based perspective. My goal is to support individuals on their journey toward self-awareness, empowerment, and inner peace.
As a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), I believe in the therapeutic power of play as a natural medium for children to express themselves and heal. I incorporate a variety of play-based techniques—including games, bibliotherapy, art, imaginative exploration, and sand tray therapy—to foster connection and promote emotional growth. I view play as a fundamental way to create safety, trust, and connection in the therapeutic space.
Understanding the vital role of the family in shaping who we are, I also incorporate family therapy to strengthen and sustain healthy, functional relationships. I provide psychoeducation and parenting support alongside individual and joint play therapy sessions to help families grow and heal together.
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and often integrate it with play therapy to help children reprocess and desensitize traumatic memories in a developmentally appropriate way. I am also a Level 2 trained Internal Family Systems (IFS) informed practitioner. I hold the belief that there are no “bad parts” and work collaboratively with clients to explore and understand their internal protective systems.
My clinical experience includes working with children and adults who have experienced abuse, neglect, single-incident or complex trauma, as well as those navigating depression, anxiety, and other mood disorders. I have a particular passion for supporting the LGBTQQIA+ community and am committed to fostering awareness, acceptance, and inclusion in all aspects of my work.
