Aaron Detwiler, LCSW

I’ve had 12 years of experience working with children and adolescents in a residential setting, prior to starting my clinical career. I use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including: Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy, Sand Tray, EMDR, and Internal Family Systems. I implement individualized treatment from a strengths-based, solutions-focused approach.
One of the things I love most about working at the Samaritan Center is the variety of therapeutic spaces available. We have a designated Play Therapy Room, an Art Therapy Room, a large room for movement-based activities, and my office to choose from.
I’m able to provide counseling on a spiritual level that is comfortable for clients at any place in their faith journey. I enjoy helping people develop and implement healthy habits, in addition to helping people identify and overcome barriers. I believe in the importance of creating healthy relationships, having a strong therapeutic relationship with clients, and providing a safe environment for working through presenting issues.
