Group Therapy at The Samaritan Center

While individual therapy focuses on one-to-one connection, group therapy offers something uniquely powerful—a space where people can learn, grow, and heal together. At The Center, our groups provide both skills-based learning and supportive, real-time interactions that help participants build insight and resilience.

Our Groups

Our groups are ongoing, with the expectation of weekly participation. Interested members are invited to contact group leaders for screening to assess the fit for group based on each person’s treatment goals.

Learn practical skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.

Within the container of the group setting, members are invited to explore relational dynamics with peers in real time. Individuals can receive feedback on the impact they have on others and practice new ways of getting needs met in the world.

Why Group Therapy Works

Group therapy provides a microcosm of everyday life—interactions, relationships, and emotional responses happen in real time. In a group setting, members can:

Explore Real-Life Relationship Dynamics

Practice Healthier Responses

Understand the Limits of Old Coping Skills

Grow Through Feedback and Support

Find Strength in Shared Experiences

Discover and Transform Relational Patterns

The psychodynamic element of group therapy helps individuals more clearly see their relational patterns that often formed in early years within their families of origin and early socialization. Individuals are then provided the opportunity to experiment with healthier ways of relating within a boundaried setting to optimize relationships in their outside lives.
