Fee Assistance Funds

Over the decades, several dedicated funds have been established to ensure access for all.

Still Dancing Event

Each year, eight local “celebrities” step out of their comfort zones and onto the dance floor, training with professional instructors to deliver unforgettable performances all while raising funds to support the life-changing counseling services of the Samaritan Center.

The Samaritan Fund (est. 1989)

This general fee assistance fund ensures that financial barriers do not prevent clients from receiving the mental health care they need. It provides support for men and for clients who do not qualify under other fee assistance categories, reflecting our commitment to making therapy accessible, equitable, and compassionate for all.

The Silent Samaritan Fund (est. 1994)

helps women access services through a “women helping women” model. The Silent Samaritan fundraiser that is held every year (as either a letter campaign or an event) is our most utilized fee assistance fund.

The Small Fry Fund (est. in 2000)

was created to ensure that children have access to the counseling and support they need during their most formative years. By easing the financial burden of care, this fund helps families seek early intervention and provides children with a safe place to grow, heal, and thrive.

The Julie Fund (est. 2015)

julie fund

Created in 2015 by Leon and Pam Hluchota in memory of their daughter, Julie, who lost her battle with addiction. Julie was known for her love of cooking, her eye for fashion, and the undeniable spark she brought to life.

This fund was established to support individuals facing addiction and the families who walk alongside them. In honor of Julie’s memory, the Hluchotas are expanding the vision of the fund to also provide support for children and youth—helping to prevent future struggles with addiction through early intervention, education, and care.

Through the Julie Fund, Julie’s light continues to shine by offering hope, healing, and the chance for a brighter future.

The Jonathon Fund (est. 2009)

The Jonathon Fund was established in 2009 in loving memory of Jonathon Bayne Burton, son of Bill and Debby (Mathias) Burton, who died at the age of 19 after a difficult struggle with depression. In the wake of this profound loss, family, friends, and community members gave generously in Jonathon’s memory. With these memorial contributions, the Board of Directors created the Jonathon Fund to help adolescents and teens access the therapy and support they need to cope with life’s pressures and challenges. The Burton family chose the Samaritan Center to house this fund because of its unrelenting commitment to mental health, ensuring that Jonathon’s legacy continues by offering hope and healing to others.

Couples Fund (est 2021)

In 2021, our Board of Directors established the Couples Fee Assistance Fund in response to the growing need for relationship support in our community.

At that time, we were seeing long waitlists for couples counseling, and it was clear that many partners wanted help but were unable to fully afford the cost of care.In addition to providing adjusted fees for clients based on household income, the board also designated resources to help with training and professional consult with our therapists, expanding our capacity to serve more couples with specialized care.

General Donations

When you give to The Center, your donation goes directly toward the heart of our work. General donations help us provide fee assistance for those in need, cover day-to-day operations and building maintenance, purchase therapy supplies, and support our Therapist Education Fund so our team can continue growing in knowledge and skill.

Most importantly, your gift helps us maintain a warm, safe, and welcoming space where individuals, couples, and families can find hope, healing, and connection. Every contribution, no matter the size, makes a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve.
